The Great & Powerful A to Z Theme Reveal

April is right around the corner, and that means it's almost time for A to Z to begin!  For those of you who have not signed up and may be interested in doing so, you can do that HERE.

Today, a few of my fellow A to Z bloggers are revealing their theme for this April's challenge. You can sign up HERE if you'd like to join in on the fun of the great reveal.  A theme isn't required for A to Z participation, of course, but having a theme can be helpful.  It makes it easier to plan your posts, and if a reader is interested in the theme you've selected, they'll keep coming back to your blog.

I'm a science fiction geek, so I knew I wanted to do a science fiction theme this year.  I decided that for each letter of the alphabet, I wanted to briefly outline a theme or concept frequently seen in science fiction, and to use that topic to formulate a few questions.  For example, for A I chose as my topic "Asimov and Artificial Intelligence."  The laws of robotics formulated by Asimov are famous for good reason, but creating an artificial intelligence comes along with plenty of issues that those laws alone cannot address.

I want to keep my posts fairly short, so while I won't be able to go into great depth within the body of each post, I hope the questions I raise might inspire some fruitful discussion in the comments.  I also hope readers will pose their own questions to inspire discussion.  The more people interact, the better it will be, so I hope you'll all join me on this blogging journey!

  8. I love the theme. Asimov and AI should be really fascinating (Yeah sci fi nerd here too!). But more importantly, Star Trek or Star Wars - I'm told you can't be a fan of both! (Which doesn't work for me as I'm a fan of both lol)

    Found you via the #atozchallenge

  9. Love it. I wrote a post for the wormhole bloghp about AI, and my theme for A to Z is the launch of my new book Savior, which has some time travel and doomsday elements in it. Check out my new page on the blog for Savior.

  13. Great theme! I'll have to look in on this one. I've been curious about knowing more about sci-fi lately and this will be a good starting point. Seeing as I just recenlty found out about the AtoZ Challenge my theme will be random but that suits me just fine =P
