Carl Sagan Day

In honor of Carl Sagan Day.  On this day, November 9th, in the year 1934, one of the greatest minds of our time came into this world.  He left it all too soon, but his words live on to inspire us, and humble us.

Thank you, Carl Sagan.

The Earth is Flat? I Thought We Were Well Past That By Now.

Sometimes I see something that makes me feel like my brain is about to bleed.  This is an example of one of those things.

Here is a prime example of willful ignorance, and apparently the rest of the world simply isn't willing to investigate things for themselves.  Hmmm . . .

He is of course free to believe as he wishes.  I just don't see how beliefs like this can possibly survive the modern age.

The Empire Strikes Earth!

As someone who loves both Star Trek and Star Wars, as well as poking fun of the supposed apocalypse of 2012, I thought this video was kind of fun. A lot of people have wanted a collaboration between the two science fiction masterpieces. Well, here it is.

When thinking about which force (he he) would win, the Empire or the Enterprise, I realized those Borg spheres kind of resemble a smaller version of the Death Star. If that's a valid comparison, then the Enterprise would kick some serious butt! The only question that remains is this: which captain would you want at the helm?

Time Lapse View of Planet Earth

I've often wondered what it would be like to fly over the Earth, but as of yet, I've never had a chance to do it. However, when I first saw this video, it amazed me. Our world looks so small and beautiful, and sights like these only make me love outer space even more.
