NASA was founded in 1958, the year after the Russians put Sputnik, the first artificial satellite, into orbit around the Earth. The space race was on, and the hard work and dedication of those working for NASA took America into space. That's something worth celebrating.
You can also find more information on the NASA's founding HERE.
still amazes me.

I love the name of your blog! Very cool, and original! I love space related stuff too, so I have always been interested in NASA.

I just spent the last almost two years researching NASA for a Young Adult book I'm writing. Even though the book is more about the daughter of an astronaut, I needed to get the details right. I found some pretty cool old footage on YouTube, and was amazed at how many documents and historical info I found online, a lot of them linked through Johnson Space Center.
